A new science and language centre at Melton Secondary College was launched last Friday.
Musical performances by students like Sean (pictured) were part of celebrations held in the $2.1 million building that has been operating since the start of the school year.
Assistant principal Matthew Naudi said the centre provided flexible learning spaces with laboratories for nanotechnology, environmental science, biology, physics and chemistry classes.
Mr Naudi said the new building, funded by the federal government, had been an excellent addition to the school and had boosted its capacity for science education.
