RDNL: Romsey stumbles in race to secure double chance

ROMSEY dropped a key game in the race for a finals double chance in Riddell District Netball League on Saturday.

Visitors Wallan left as conquerors, winning by seven goals.

The reigning premier is two games behind second-placed Macedon after the 43-36 defeat.

Melton Central continues to lead the ladder on percentage after a dominant 81-18 win against Kilmore. Macedon has the same 11-1 record as the Blues.

Broadford won 70-22 against Rockbank to improve to 10-3 and claim third at Romsey’s expense.

Romsey (9-4), Riddell (9-4) and Wallan (7-6) round out the top six, with the Magpies two games clear of Diggers Rest, which is in seventh place.

Riddell proved too strong for the Burras on Saturday with a 56-22 win and in the weekend’s other match, Sunbury Kangaroos 57 defeated Woodend Hesket 34.
