Eighteen doors stolen in Melton raids

Police are warning residents and builders to lock properties as houses continue to be targeted by thieves.

Sheets of prepackaged plaster were stolen from a house being built in Burswood Place, Melton West, between 6pm on August 1 and 7.30am the next day.

Police said a truck would have been needed to remove the sheets. Two water meters were stolen from a house in Bandon Road, Melton South, between 7am and 5.10pm on August 2.

Each meter was worth $363. Eighteen internal doors were taken from a house for sale in Pittos Avenue, Brookfield, between 7pm on August 2 and 10am the next day.

The doors were valued at $2000.
