When Melton resident Paul Rogers (pictured) was faced with redundancy, he refused to become downcast and saw it as a chance to start his own business. And he hasn’t regretted a single moment.
While many Toyota workers were devastated when made redundant earlier this year, Mr Rogers decided it was his opportunity to fulfil a lifelong dream.
“I was actually happy to take it. I put my hand up when I heard about the redundancies. I thought it could be a chance to start a business.”
After completing a certificate III in animal services , he launched a mobile dog-grooming service.
“It’s been a great experience. The course was really hands-on. I’ve always loved the idea of working with animals and have volunteered to do so for much of my life.”
