Brookfield siblings ride to rescue cancer sufferers

BROOKFIELD sisters Melinda and Melissa Toth (pictured) hope that each kilometre they ride from Melbourne to the Yarra Valley will bring Australians one step closer to conquering cancer.

‘Team Toth’ is training for the Peter MacCallum Institute’s 200-kilometre Ride to Conquer Cancer on October 27-28.

Melinda says the gruelling ride will be nothing compared to what thousands of cancer patients face every day. “By riding in this event I’m helping to do something about [cancer],” Melinda says.

She says the ride is a chance to raise money for the important work of the cancer centre while showing support for cancer sufferers.

“My family, too, has been touched by cancer. My grandpa lost his battle with bone cancer and my grandma overcame breast cancer.”

Riders are asked to raise a minimum of $2500.
