FORMER grand prix motorcycle road racer Kevin Magee and World Superbike rider Chris Vermeulen will share their expert knowledge with motorcyclists and drivers at a free forum in Melton this Saturday.
Mayor Justin Mammarella said the forum at Tabcorp Park was a chance for road users to learn how to share the road safely.
In 2011, 49 motorcyclists died on Victorian roads; they represented 17 per cent of the road toll. Leading Senior Constable Allan Edwards encouraged residents to attend. “Anything to improve road safety is a good thing,” he said.
Residents can buy discount safety gear and win prizes at the event, which is being presented by Melton Council and Victoria Police with support from RoadSafe Westgate. The forum is from 10am-2.30pm. Places are limited.
