Missing Bacchus Marsh woman’s car found in Maribyrnong

THE car belonging to a missing Bacchus Marsh woman who vanished from her home
last week has been found after a tip-off from the public, police said today.

This latest development comes as police continue the search for the missing
woman, Sarah Cafferkey, 22, who  has a rare medical condition.

The silver 2001 Astra sedan was found in Owen Street, Maribyrnong, last
night.

Police have serious fears for the safety of Ms Cafferkey who is believed to
have been out with friends last Friday night.

She has not been seen since and police and her family fear for her health,
saying she needs regular medication for her illness.

Detective Senior Constable Daniel York, of the Moorabool Criminal
Investigation Unit, said on Thursday that she suffered from an asthma-related
illness and she needed to regularly use a Ventolin inhaler.

‘‘Obviously because she hasn’t been seen since Saturday it’s becoming a worry
and her mum is fairly worried as well,’’ Detective Senior Constable York
said.

Ms Cafferkey was last seen by her family leaving her home on Ross Street last
Friday night.

It is understood she has not accessed her bank accounts. Ms Cafferkey is
described as Caucasian 168 centimetres tall, of thin build, with a fair
complexion, black shoulder-length straight hair and green eyes.
