Sarah Cafferkey tragedy: Two Wyndham men questioned

TWO  men are being questioned in relation to the murder of Bacchus Marsh woman Sarah Cafferkey.

Homicide squad detectives today arrested a 32-year-old Tarneit man and a 34-year-old Point Cook man at  a house in Tarneit.

The men are  assisting police with their enquiries.

It follows the arrest of Bacchus Marsh man James Hunter on Tuesday at a house in Hawthorn.

The 47-year-old has been charged with one count of murder for allegedly stabbing Ms Cafferkey to death and dumping her body in a wheelie bin.

Hunter  appeared briefly in Melbourne Magistrates Court yesterday and has been remanded in custody until March.

Ms Cafferkey’s body was found in a house in Fongeo Drive, Point Cook last Sunday.

Police spokeswoman Kelly Yates said investigations into Ms Cafferkey’s death were ongoing.

‘‘The community is reminded that comments on social media sites may potentially affect the outcome of court matters relating to this investigation,’’ she said.

‘‘We request people refrain from posting hateful or inciteful comments on these sites.’’

Point Cook residents will tonight hold a twilight vigil in the suburb to remember Ms Cafferkey.
