Pursuits of happiness

Will it be the fenced, in-ground pool under sails, the wonderful summer house, the tennis court with basketball ring, the mini motorbike circuit with jumps or the massive, American-style shed which will have tradies or hobbyists drooling that will win the hearts of new owners?

Maybe it will be the well-presented house with multiple, well-placed living zones each touched with the Victoriana wand, sitting on about 2.42 hectares of landscaped surrounds.

Whatever the answer, this is a property with serious cred when it comes to entertainment, business or family lifestyle. Decorative fascias, finials, lacework start the period styling outside, while inside there’s painted ceiling rosettes, stepped cornices, arches, deep dado rails, bay windows and bathroom decor to complete the old-world look.

At one end, three bedrooms each has wardrobes; two have floating floorboards that begin at entry (off which is a carpeted study) and continue down hallways and into living zones. Each bedroom has access to a big rumpus room with wood heater and the nearby bathroom has a clawfoot bath and period-style timber vanity unit.

At the home’s centre, there’s a lounge-dining room with two-way fireplace, a family-meals area with back verandah access and the kitchen with island bench, corner pantry, dishwasher, wall oven and 900mm gas cooktop.

Down the other end, the main bedroom has a big walk-in wardrobe and a large ensuite with the same styling as the other bathroom.

Outside, there’s space galore with pockets of gardens, old-world street lamps, plenty of ornamental trees and a cubby house to boot. Three paddocks at the back provide land for numerous pursuits.
