AFTER a $2.5 million makeover, historic Morton Homestead in Taylors Hill will open its doors this weekend as part of the Melton Sustainable Living Festival.
Now in its 14th year, the festival will be launched at the city’s heritage showpiece and continue until February 24.
The festival is a showcase of the green endeavours and efforts of all manner of local businesses, groups and individuals — from superannuation funds to kitchen gardens at schools, and housing co-ops to homegrown organics.
Morton Homestead won the 2012 cultural heritage award as part of Keep Australia Beautiful Victoria’s Sustainable Cities awards.
Tours will be held Saturday from 1.30-2.30pm. Bookings essential: 9747 7300.
