Crash victim a Melton man

Police have identified a Melton man, 37, who died in hospital after being hit by a truck in Braybrook last Wednesday. His family has been notified.

Man charged with carrying fake pistol

A Melton man was arrested after he was caught carrying an imitation firearm at a Melton nightclub on February 10. Patrons alerted security staff after they noticed a man with what they believed was a handgun. Security guards disarmed the man and called police. The man, 24, was charged with a number of offences and bailed to appear at Sunshine Magistrates Court on May 15.

Driver returns positive drug test

Police have charged a Melton woman after she returned a positive drug test while driving with a baby in the back seat. The 29-year-old was driving an unregistered and unroadworthy Holden Calais while on a suspended licence. The woman was charged on summons and her male passenger, the car’s owner, was given an infringement notice.

Police probe into grass fire

Police are investigating a small grass fire in Tenterfield Drive, Burnside Heights, believed to have been deliberately lit. The February 11 fire began about 6.15pm and attracted around 100 onlookers. Anyone with information is being urged to contact police.
