A touch of glamour

Lay aside preconceptions of finding a cookie-cutter modern house because this one in a leafy Grantleigh estate street is a corker.

A credit to the owner’s clever styling, it would be right at home on the pages of a glossy mag — with the must-haves of space and practicality given due regard.

Employing nature’s colour palette of sand and sea as a perfect counterpoint to an otherwise all-white decor, there’s a feel of utter harmony and elegant simplicity.

Gardens are also simple, fresh and effortless.

The living areas of carpeted lounge room (off the entry hall, as is an open study) and tiled family-meals and rumpus rooms are big and beautiful with either plantation shutters or roman blinds dressing windows.

The kitchen sparkles with an L-shaped island bench topped with glass-finished laminate, two-door pantry, deep drawers, a Bosch dishwasher and D’Amani 900mm gas cooker.

The nearby laundry, with storage and garage access, even has a touch of glam.

If the house’s innate beauty doesn’t seal the deal, the main bedroom surely will. Anchored by plush grey carpet, it’s an all-white affair that delivers chic rather than iciness, and has a walk-in wardrobe and sleek open ensuite with dual vanity basins.

A bedroom is off the family hub, and two more are down a hallway where the bathroom with big shower can also be found.

The grassy backyard of the 780-square-metre block has pittosporum and clumping bamboo borders and a garden shed hidden behind a timber screen.
