FFV: Melton Phoenix hits the top

MELTON Phoenix moved to the top of FFV state league 5 west with a 1-0 win against Balmoral at MacPherson Park on Saturday night.

Chris Briggs scored the winning goal early in the second half. The victory keeps Melton unbeaten through four games, its 10 points putting it top of the league on goal difference from Sebastopol Vikings.

There is no league match this weekend due to an FFV knock-out cup round.
