A major Australian movie set to begin production next year could film scenes in Moorabool. A Moorabool council spokesperson said it was assessing an enquiry from a production company about the possibility of filming the project – believed to be called Gallipoli – in 2014.
A council report on the Moorabool Shire Council Film Policy revealed there had been an enquiry about filming the movie, and a television commercial for Mazda.
Moorabool has been a regular location for feature films and TV dramas with Charlotte’s Webb, Ned Kelly, Ghost Rider, Rush and The Flying Doctors being shot in the area over the past decade.
Council has is part of an award winning partnership called Ballarat and Beyond was recognised nationally as industry best practice in 2009.
Ballarat and Beyond won the an Economic Development Australia National Award for excellence in the Economic Development Partnership category.
