A HALF-time spray from coach Randy Pereira was the spark Melton Centrals needed to overcome Sunbury by 16 points in the top-of-the-table Riddell District Netball League clash.
With his team trailing 18-22 at half-time, Pereira was “spitting chips” and made sure he let his players know.
It worked, and the Centrals outscored their opponents in the second half to win 46-30.

Renee Hulls (26) and Rebecca Morabito (20) did the scoring for Melton, while Sunbury’s Kila Elavo hit 21 points.
“We were playing ordinary netball in the first half,” Pereira said.
“It was the first time I’ve lost my temper and told them a few truths. They responded in the right way and to keep them to eight goals in the second half was a really good effort by our defenders.”
Riddell also remains undefeated after a 62-51 win over Lancefield.
Macedon had a very comfortable 47-16 victory over Diggers Rest, Rupertswood beat Broadford 53-29 and Wallan defeated Rockbank 58-29.
This weekend’s fixtures: Riddell District Football & Netball League v Kyabram District Football & Netball League at Tatura Showgrounds on Saturday.
