Driver avoids jail but faces life of guilt over double fatality

A BREAKWATER man involved in an horrific double fatality on the Bacchus Marsh-Geelong Road has avoided jail, but will live with his guilt and anxiety forever, a court has heard.

John Bryson, 55, appeared in Ballarat Magistrates Court yesterday over a fatal collision involving two cars in Balliang East on October 2.

He was convicted and fined $2000 and had his licence suspended for six months, after pleading guilty to careless driving, using a motor vehicle without registration and possessing amphetamines, cannabis and a Taser.
