Kids hands-on in indigenous appreciation

CAMBRIAN Way Preschool pupils learnt about indigenous art, dance and food during a visit by Uncle Bill Nicholson last Friday.

The Wurundjeri elder’s visit to the Melton West centre was organised for National Aboriginal and Islander Children’s Day.

“We as teachers strongly believe in the importance of celebrating the first people of this country and ensuring that children are taught the truth about our Aboriginal heritage,” teacher Janet Heaney said.
