MOORABOOL council is repairing a footpath on the corner of Pilmer
and Grant streets in Bacchus Marsh, more than three months after it was
dug up as part of disability compliance works.
The $3500 project was suspended after a telecommunications cable was damaged.
Resident Dotty Hazell said people living on Pilmer and Grant
streets were worried about the possibility of injury. Many students
walk the path daily.
“I know people around there who don’t even drive, they walk with
their prams all the time, and it’s a little dangerous with all those
ridges and bumps,” she said.
Council chief executive Rob Croxford eased concerns about the unfinished footpath.
“Council has continuously inspected the site to ensure it is safe to mitigate any community concerns,” he said.
Mr Croxford said Telstra completed permanent repairs on August 16 and that paving works would follow.
