A familiar foe is coming Melton Centrals’ way in this weekend’s
Riddell District Netball League grand final after Romsey beat Riddell
Bombers by 14 goals in the preliminary final on Saturday.
The Blues’ season has ended at Romsey’s hands in each of the past
three seasons, and the arch rivals will renew acquaintances in the
A-grade decider this Sunday.
Since claiming the 2009 premiership, Melton Centrals has fallen to
Romsey in the 2010 grand final and then consecutive preliminary finals
in 2011 and last year. Romsey finished fifth this season with a 10-6
record, five games behind minor premier Melton Centrals, and it looked
like the September rivalry might be taking a year off.
