Melton South pupils such as Laura, 9, and Chase, 5, have been making the most of their unwanted rubbish this month.
Children from all year levels have been focusing on reducing waste and reusing and recycling products.
“All students have been bringing their recyclable rubbish to school,” teacher Donna Teven says.
“Students from prep to grade 6 are really excited about saving their plastic bottles, containers, boxes and cans so they can bring them to school to be used again.’’
Some children have taken the fun to another level, inviting their parents to ‘creature-making’ afternoons, working together to create an animal, monster or alien from recycled materials and masking tape.
