Photographer Wayne Quilliam has brought all the glamour and beauty of a Melbourne Fashion Festival show to Hopetoun Park, shooting indigenous models near his home last Friday.
The dress rehearsal was for last Saturday’s official runway event, Indigenous Fashion Unearthed, which showcased the work of Aboriginal designers and models from around the world.
“The theme for this year is Mother Earth, celebrating our connection to country … that’s why we were shooting in my area,” Hopetoun Park-based Quilliam said.
“We brought it back to basics and with New Zealand designers, a Native American model and eclectic textures and designs from all over the world, it made for a vibrant runway.”
