Top chefs from Malaysia drop in to Moorabool

Seven of Malaysia’s top chefs have been introduced to Moorabool’s finest produce during a visit to the Central Highlands.

As part of an international tour to find potential suppliers for their restaurants, reception centres and catering businesses, the chefs stopped by Tripod Farmers in Bacchus Marsh and Ballan’s Sher Wagyu before enjoying a lunch prepared by award-winning chef Mark Mills at The Plough in Myrniong.

The tour also visited Tooheys potato farm in Springbank, Inglenook Dairy in Dunnstown and Ballarat’s Rebellion Brewery.

“This is an important event to showcase our produce to these executive chefs, who are highly respected in Malaysia and can influence buying decisions,” Moorabool mayor Paul Tatchell said.
