Buses replaced trains on the Sunbury line between Sunbury and Watergardens yesterday morning after a man fell from a train at Diggers Rest about 7.30am. The man was airlifted to The Alfred hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police are hunting a man involved in an assault in Melton West last Wednesday. Investigators believe a 20-year-old woman was walking north along Bulmans Road about 10pm when a car pulled up behind her. The male driver asked her if she wanted a lift but she refused. The driver grabbed her by the hair and punched her in the face. He then released the woman and drove north along Bulmans Road. The man is Caucasian and possibly a heavy smoker. man arrested for burglary
A Caroline Springs man, 34, was arrested ifor burglary and theft offences on March 3. The man allegedly produced a knife after being disturbed by the occupant of a Caroline Springs house. He has been remanded into custody to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court on April 1.
