man hurt in knife attack

A man was attacked with a knife on the corner of Quail Crescent and Scott Street, Melton, about 11.50pm last Wednesday. Police said that after producing the weapon and demanding money, one of three teenagers waved the knife near the victim’s head. The man suffered minor injuries after raising his hand in self-defence.

man charged over car theft

A Melton South man, 37, has been charged with theft after his car, which had stolen registration plates, was stopped by police on Thursday. Meanwhile, two men in their 30s were arrested last Tuesday for allegedly breaking into factories under construction in Freight Road, Ravenhall. No property was stolen. The pair will be charged on summons.

thieves target utes, trailers

Tools were stolen from utes parked on Orrong Parade and Pro Hart Way, Caroline Springs, on February 19 and 20. A trailer was stolen from the backyard of a house
in Smoult Drive, Kurunjang, between February 17 and 21. Another trailer was stolen from a house in Centenary Avenue, Melton, on February 22.

speed behind truck crash

A truck ploughed through five gum trees and almost went through a resident’s fence near Darley Park on Friday. Police believe speed was a factor in the crash at the corner of Fitzroy and Gisborne roads about 11am.
No one was injured.
