Health and happiness are key aims of Melton’s Municipal Early Years Plan 2014-2017.
Melton council launched the plan last Wednesday.
It outlines the direction for services that affect the health, learning and development of children aged up to 12 years old living in the municipality.
The strategy focuses on the five primary themes of growing up happy and healthy, shaping the city, learning and development, what families need and community.
Mayor Bob Turner believes the council and partners play an important role in helping families to raise happy and healthy children.
“Planning for early years services to ensure the wellbeing and development of our youngest constituents is a task that council takes very seriously, Cr Turner said.
“Council delivers services and infrastructure that help connect children and their families to the broader community … our
Municipal Early Years Plan will guide council and our partners to achieve the best results for our local families.”
