Aboriginal service honour
A display to honour the role of indigenous Australian servicemen and women in World War I will be part of a NAIDOC week event in Bacchus Marsh. The exhibition, hosted by the Great War Centenary Committee, can be seen from 10am to 2pm on July 7 at Bacchus Marsh shire hall.

Wild time for SES
The Bacchus Marsh SES unit attended 20 call-outs during last Tuesday’s wild weather. Bacchus Marsh SES deputy controller Bill Robson said most were for trees falling on to fences and sheds, and tiles off house roofs.
Melton kids go well
A new Melton health and wellbeing program for children was launched on June 27. The council-run program, called Healthy Children Growing Together, includes “walking school buses”, breakfast programs, cooking classes and nutrition education workshops. The program, funded by Macedon Ranges North Western Melbourne Medicare Local, are being rolled out through children’s and community centres across the municipality. Voice budget blues
Melton residents can voice their concerns about state government funding inadequacies for interface councils at a meeting on July 14 at Melton Community Hall from 7pm.
