The Melton State Emergency Service unit has been given new equipment as part of the annual AAMI equipment handover program.
Melton SES members Wayne Stylianou and Rodney Fraser collected 10 tactical focus torches, a domestic resource kit and a fridge for their unit headquarters.
SES chief executive Stephen Griffin thanked AAMI, which has been a partner with the SES since 2002. “I’m looking forward to hitting the road and seeing all the equipment distributed to help volunteers protect their communities,” Mr Griffin said.
AAMI general insurance sponsorships executive manager John Bennetts said he was pleased to be able to help out the SES crews.
“We have 1450 pieces of equipment to hand over to volunteers across the state,” he said.
“We’re so happy to be able to provide this support and it’s a great opportunity to get out and meet the volunteers who provide this invaluable service to our communities.”
Melton was one of 34 volunteer SES units to receive new equipment.
