Thieves target display homes in Plumpton

Two display homes in Rowling Street, Plumpton, have been burgled.

Furniture, artwork and ornaments were stolen some time on Friday or Saturday, February 20-21.

Detective Sergeant Rob Henley, of the Melton crime investigation unit, said display homes and construction sites were being targeted often.

“We’re asking residents who live near display ho7mes to report any suspicious activity,” Detective Sergeant Henley said.

“Usually when furniture and artworks are stolen, you expect there to be more than one person, but we don’t know for sure.”

Police are also on the hunt for two male offenders believed to be responsible for at least three burglaries in Caroline Springs between February 19 and 21.

It is believed they were driving a dark grey or black dual-cab utility.

One is described as in his mid-20s, Caucasian, 170 centimetres tall, of medium build and with brown hair. He was last seen wearing a red top with white writing, blue shorts and runners.

The other is believed to be in his early 30s, of southern European appearance, 180 centimetres tall, of slim build and with black hair.

He was last seen wearing a black top with white writing and black tracksuit pants with white stripes.
