Bacchus Marsh man urges Melton residents to get fit for free

A Bacchus Marsh fitness fanatic is offering his expertise in a bid to create a healthier community.

Personal trainer Kieran Atkin launched the Melton Fitclub last month and is urging residents to take advantage of the free program.

“There’s nothing like this in Melton – it’s a great way of to get people exercising, especially those who can’t afford it or have never been to a gym before,” Mr Atkin told Star Weekly.

“It’s the ideal program for people who want to get active but don’t know how to go about it … it’s perfect for any age and fitness level and a real friendly and fun atmosphere.”

The avid footballer and cricketer says participants only need to show up, with all the equipment provided.

The program includes boxing, core strength exercises, a cool down and a free presentation on nutrition.

“I take it as a personal challenge to get people fit. The transformations I see are amazing. They [the participants] do all the hard work and I just provide a safe and fun environment.”

Melton Fitclub is at Darlingsford Barn on Darlingsford Boulevard, Melton, every Monday and Wednesday from 6.30pm.
