Kindergartens across the west are set to become more inclusive and accessible, with new upgrades and equipment aimed at supporting children of all abilities.
Melton MP Steve McGhie announced local services would benefit from the latest round of Building Blocks Inclusion and Improvement grants, designed to create safer, more welcoming learning environments.
Among the recipients is Botanica Springs Kindergarten in Brookfield, which will upgrade its playground in an aim to enhance sessional kinder programs and create a more inclusive and engaging outdoor space for all children.
A number of Melton services will also receive accessible equipment such as adjustable furniture, mobility stools and sensory resources.
Recipients in Melton include Goodstart Early Learning centres across Melton and Melton West, Eynesbury Kindergarten, Kingsway Preschool, and Thornhill Park Children’s and Community Centre, to name a few.
Information technology upgrades including computers and tablets will also be provided in a bid to support educational programs and day-to-day operations.
Minister for Children Lizzie Blandthorn said every child deserved to fully participate in kindergarten, with the grants helping services better meet the needs of their communities.
“Every child deserves to fully participate in Kinder – these grants help services make that a reality,” she said.
