There’s good news for Moorabool residents with a furry friend, as ground has broken on a brand new off-leash dog park in Maddingley.
Site works have begun on the off-leash dog park at Bacchus marsh Racecourse and Recreation Reserve (BMRRR), adding to the existing active sports precinct at the reserve.
The new dog park is set to cater to every local dog’s needs, including a gravel walking path, large open grass areas, seating, a drinking fountain with an included dog bowl, shelters, dog bag dispensers, and landscaping.
The park is also planned to be securely fenced and made up of two areas, with one small area catering to quieter dogs, and another for larger, more rambunctious dogs.
The new park will form part of the shire’s other many off-leash dog parks, across Bacchus Marsh, Darley, Ballan, Mt Egerton, Gordon, and Lal Lal, working to give Moorabool’s tail-waggers plenty of options on where to bark, play, socialise and fetch.
The park is set to be completed by 30 June this year and has been planned with help from a grant from the state government’s New and Upgraded Dog Parks program.
