Upgrades for schools

Students and staff of two local schools are set to benefit from significant facility upgrades which aim to deliver more modern, flexible and supporting learning environments.

At Melton Christian College’s Toolern Vale campus, construction is underway on a new classroom complex designed to enhance learning outcomes and better accommodate the school’s growing community.

Hawke MP Sam Rae said the improvements will provide staff and students with the upgraded spaces they need to thrive.

“These new facilities will give teachers and students at Melton Christian College Toolern Vale Campus better, more contemporary spaces in which to work, teach and learn,” Mr Rae said.

He said the upgrades will not only support students now, but also strengthen educational opportunities well into the future.

“The teachers, staff and students at Melton Christian College Toolern Vale Campus have built a strong and positive school community, and these new facilities will further enhance our local educational opportunities.”

In Ballan, St Brigid’s School is preparing for a suite of works which will include new general learning areas, upgraded student amenities and refurbished staff facilities, with the improvements aimed at creating contemporary, adaptable spaces which reflect modern teaching and learning needs.

Mr Rae said the enhancements would help ensure students are equipped with the skills and opportunities needed for further study and employment.

“I congratulate St Brigid’s School on their successful project and look forward to seeing the positive impact these new facilities will have on the school community.”
