Residents are invited to join a free community celebration on Saturday 22 November between 10am and 1pm at Diggers Rest station eastern precinct in celebration of a major milestone for the Sunbury Line Level crossing removal project.
With the new Golden Way Road bridge now open, the boom gates at Old Calder Highway removed, and works nearing completion on the new Watsons Road bridge, according to the government crews are marking significant progress toward making the Sunbury Line boom-gate-free.
To thank locals for their patience throughout the construction, a family-friendly event will be held on Saturday 22 November, from 10am-1pm, where locals can enjoy free food, live music, and entertainment for all ages.
Children can also look forward to meeting the animals from Farmer Darryl’s mobile animal farm, which will be on site throughout the morning.
Residents are encouraged to drop in at any time and enjoy a relaxed morning of celebration for travel in and around Diggers Rest.
