Have your say on council plans

Community members have been invited to have their say on three important strategic documents that will guide the work of Melton Council in the future.

These documents are the draft Council and Wellbeing Plan 2025-2029, the draft Long Term Financial Plan 2025-2035 and draft Asset Plan 2025-2035.

Melton Mayor Steve Abboushi encouraged everyone to “join in the consultation process and have your say.”

“The voice of our residents in helping to shape these plans is vital to ensure we are delivering on the needs and expectations of our community.”

The plans were endorsed for community consultation at a recent Council meeting.

The draft Council and Wellbeing Plan sets out the vision, priorities, and strategic direction for Melton over the next four years and was informed by a 50-member panel representing a broad cross-section of the community.

Council’s vision is ‘A welcoming and liveable city accessible to all.’

This is to be supported by themes of a healthy and inclusive community, a thriving and well-designed city, and a progressive and trusted council.

The draft Asset Plan will support the Council Plan and outlines Melton council’s long-term strategic management of assets over the next 10 years including transport, buildings and stormwater.

The draft Financial Plan outlines how Melton council will use available funds to deliver services, infrastructure and programs over the next 10 years, whilst ensuring financial stability.

Feedback is invited on the three plans until Tuesday, July 8.
