Hillside aggravated burglary under investigation

Detectives have released CCTV footage as part of an investigation into an aggravated burglary where a man was threatened with a firearm in Hillside last year.

It is understood five male offenders approached a house on Antionetta Way just after 2am on December 30.

Police were told one of the men climbed over a fence, smashed a glass door and entered the property.

Three occupants, a 50-year-old man, a 49-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy were inside at the time.

The 50-year-old man was woken by the disturbance and confronted the offender, who was standing in the hallway holding a firearm.

A short time later the victim opened the front door of the property, where he was confronted by another offender who was holding a handgun.

Detectives were told he threatened the occupant and held the gun towards his head.

The five offenders then fled in two get-away vehicles which were parked nearby on Catherine Drive.

Police have released vision of the cars, believed to be a distinctive white Smart Car and a silver sedan, which were seen in the area just before and immediately after the incident.

Investigators have also released CCTV and images of two males they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, with dashcam/CCTV footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
