Melton and Moorabool are set to receive grants from the federal government’s Thriving Suburbs program to help fund community infrastructure projects.
Cobblebank Community Services Hub will receive $15 million to deliver a six-storey community and health services hub, accommodating education, employment, family violence prevention, health, rehabilitation and refugee provider services, supporting culturally and linguistically diverse, first nations and vulnerable residents of all ages.
Another $4 million will be invested to the Bacchus Marsh Racecourse Recreation Reserve Community and Multi Sports Hub development, which will deliver a community and multi-sports hub, inclusive of accessible changerooms and public amenities, meeting rooms, catering/event-ready facilities for cultural festivals, expanded and upgraded sporting and co-joined playground infrastructure.
Hawke MP Sam Rae said the investments in projects in the area are needed now more than ever.
“The Thriving Suburbs Program is making local priority projects a reality and I look forward to seeing the significant benefits this funding will provide for our community,” he said.
