THEATRE: Bacchus Marsh College students out of class, into cast

More than 100 past and present students of Bacchus Marsh College will be on stage from September 9 in a play written by a teacher at the school.

Letters from Theo has all the elements of a great story – an impossible love, a swift rise to fame, music and plenty of laughs.

The play centres on Theo and Anna, who have fallen in love through writing letters to each other over the course of their lives.

When Theo is conscripted to fight in Vietnam, Anna is heartbroken but continues her career as a go-go dancer.

And when she and her sworn enemy, fellow dancer Victoria, are picked up by a record company to start a band called A’N’T, they reach unprecedented fame.

Year 12 student Aimee Edwards hasn’t let impending exams get in the way of being part of the show. “We’ve been rehearsing since February, and it’s going really well,” she said.

Letters From Theo runs from September 9-11 and tickets are $10 from the college general office. For more details, phone 5367 9500.
