Berry fun festival returns

The iconic Bacchus Marsh Strawberry Festival is back bigger and better than ever following last year’s hiatus.

Felicity Ashman, who has been helping organise the festival since 2015, said it was exciting to have it back up and running.

It will be held November 14-17.

“The energy, the local vendors, the entertainment—it’s all about bringing people together to enjoy the best of the season,” Ms Ashman said.

“We can’t wait to see everyone out there having a great time.”

Ms Ashman said visitors can expect the same great experiences they’ve enjoyed in the past, with an emphasis on community activities in Graham Street and the public hall.

She said there were plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy including visiting Naturipeis strawberry farm.

“We’re especially excited to have the CWA [Country Women’s Association] serving their beloved Devonshire teas, which is always a crowd favourite,” she said.

“It’s a perfect blend of tradition and fun, and we’re looking forward to celebrating with everyone.

“I’m really looking forward to the festival’s vibrant energy, especially with the live entertainment on the main stage and the fireworks on Saturday night.

“The market stalls will showcase a variety of local vendors with handmade goods, and of course, there’s always excitement around the fresh strawberries and cherries. The farm visits via the shuttle bus are a great way to connect with our local growers.”

This year there will be a special locals’ night adding more to the festival.

For those looking to attend, it’s recommended to take the train to Bacchus Marsh and make the most of the shuttle bus.
