A woman was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a collision in Bonnie Brook on Sunday, August 18.
Police are investigating the incident and it is understood that multiple cars collided at the intersection of Leakes and Tarletons roads about 1.30pm.
There were four other people involved in the collision who sustained non-life-threatening injuries involved sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone who witnessed the incident, has CCTV, or has dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
As of August 20, 183 people have died in motor accidents, including 15 just from August.
Deaths are up from 178 at the same time last year, as well as motorcyclist and pedestrian fatalities.
Road Policing Assistant Commissioner Glenn Weir said police were urging road users to slow down and be aware of their surroundings..
“We are seeing a high number of serious injury collisions where in some cases people are receiving life altering injuries,” he said.
“2023 was a catastrophic year on our roads with 296 of people dying on our roads. We do not want to see this level of trauma again but sadly if we keep going at this rate it will be similar or worse.”
