Melton residents will be able to provide feedback on the development of four new recreation reserves in the area.
Melton council is working on the master plans for future sports facilities and open spaces and is seeking consultation from the community.
The spaces are planned for Plumpton North, Weir Views East, Deanside, and Thornhill Park.
Melton mayor Kathy Majdlik said locals had the opportunity to help shape their health and wellbeing by giving insight into the use of the environment.
“I’d urge anyone who has ideas for improving these spaces to share your thoughts on the plans and help us shape these wonderful assets for the local community,” she said.
“We’re really excited about bringing better and more modernised sporting facilities and play spaces to our community and creating areas that cater to a wider range of people.”
Community drop-in sessions will start next week, with council staff present to answer questions.
There are two sessions in Caroline Springs – one at the leisure centre on Tuesday, August 27, from 4–7pm and one at the library on Wednesday, August 28, from 10am–noon.
The other three sessions are on Wednesday, August 28, from 6–8pm at Cobblebank Stadium, Thursday, August 29, from 11am–1pm at the Melton Library and Wednesday, September 4, from 9.30am–noon at Thornhill Park Children’s and Community Centre.
