A family in Fraser Rise have escaped a blaze which engulfed their home early this morning.
More than 30 firefighters responded to the incident at 1.53am and took 44 minutes to quell the fire after donning breathing apparatus to attack the fire from within the building.
Two adults and two teens were safely evacuated from the two-storey house through their backyard and were assessed by paramedics on the scene.
They avoided being seriously injured.
Police are investigating the fire and treating it as suspicious.
A cause is yet to be determined but an arson chemist will attend the scene today.
Fire Rescue Victoria also deployed five pumpers and two aerial units to help get the fire under control, which sent smoke across the neighbourhood.
A car parked in the driveway of the home was also damaged, as well as a second vehicle parked in the street.
Emergency services received several calls for the incident, which occurred on Orbis Avenue, located just off of Taylor’s Road.
