Telstra mobile coverage may be disrupted in Moorabool while the company upgrades its station in Balliang East between December 4 and 8.

Telstra will be upgrading its mobile base station in Balliang East to provide better 4G and 5G connectivity.

There will be no mobile from this site between these four days, and then, on December 11 there will be further disruptions while the integration and call testing is performed.

Any calls to Triple 0 from a Telstra mobile while the site is off air will be automatically diverted to any working mobile connection.

Telstra regional general manager Steve Tinker said while Telstra’s crews need to work during daylight, but will only be turning off the site when they need to and will have it back on as quickly as possible.

“There’s never a good time to undertake this sort of work but once it’s completed, it will mean better mobile services for local residents,” he said

“As a company we heavily invest in improving regional connectivity and this site is another example of our commitment.

“Over the past seven years to the end of financial year 2023 Telstra invested $11 billion in our mobile network nationally, with $ billion of this invested in our regional mobile network.”
