A Starry Night Drive-in Cinema is inviting the community to enjoy a movie under the stars while raising money for the local CFA on Friday, November 17.

Gates will open at 5.30 before pre-show entertainment kicks off, which will include a children’s activity area, creative face painting, live music, food trucks and barbeque areas.

At sundown, the main event will kick off with a screening of Elemental, a family friendly movie that also serves as a timely reminder of the power of the elements as we head into Summer.

Tickets are $45 per car load and include BYO, and all profits will go to the Greendale CFA.

Kristin Sargent said reviving the Greendale Drive-in post Covid was a community hit.

“It’s always exciting to produce something, and the reward is seeing the magical memories made by those attending on the night,” she said.

“The volunteers at the Greendale CFA are our neighbours, family and friends. They give their time to us and the surrounding suburbs, they give their precious weekends in training, time from their family and put themselves in dangerous positions all in an effort to help the community.

“I think to them, it’s about seeing the community’s support and thank you for what they do

“So if we can give back by only a little by attending a family fun filled event… We are then, all winners.”

Audio for the movie is transmitted by tuning in with your car’s radio, so attendees will need to have working car speakers.

The cinema is located at Egans Reserve, Greendale.
