Fire engulfed a shed and a 40 ton truck “full of compressed cardboard and fertiliser” at a Plumpton Christmas Tree Farm on Monday, April 3.
A CFA spokesperson said 26 CFA units were called to the fire at the Leakes Road property at 4.25pm.
“Crews discovered flames and smoke visible from Diggers Rest. Community message for smoke in the area was released,” the spokesperson said.
The 30 by 50 metre shed, which was used as a fruit and vegetable packing plant, and the truck were fully alight when crews arrived.
Victoria Police was called to the scene for traffic control, and VicTraffic put out an alert citing delays in both directions north of the Melton Highway.
Worksafe and council were notified of the fire, which was deemed under control at 4.29pm and declared safe at 10.51pm.
The CFA-led operation was supported by FRV, Ambulance Victoria, SES, and EPA.
EPA investigations are ongoing.
