Bacchus Marsh won a thriller against Wallan in the Gisborne and District Cricket Association McIntyre Cup. Having made 8-266 on day one, the Bulls managed to do just enough, restricting the Magpies to 8-263. Meanwhile, Diggers Rest Bulla had no troubles against the Sunbury Kangaroos claiming an outright win. The Burras bowled the Kangaroos out for 80 in reply to their 353 made on day one. The Burras then bowled the Kangaroos out for a second time, for 111 to claim maximum points.

A-League

It was raining goals on Saturday for Western United in the A-League competitions. In the women’s match with Canberra, United scored five first half goals to set the match up. They would eventually win 5-0. In the men’s match with Macarthur, United had to settle for a 2-2 draw. United played with an extra man for most of the second half, and after hitting the lead in the 60th minute, they trailed with about 10 minutes to go. A goal from Nicholas Milanovic in the 89th minute levelled the scores and gave United a point.

VTCA

Sydenham-Hillside has been drawn to face the Druids as it aims to keep its Victorian Turf Cricket Association T20 campaign alive. Teams are in groups of four for this stage of the competition, with each match a knockout match. In region 1, Haig Fawkner faces St Francis de Sales and Yarraville Club plays Point Cook. In region 2, Deer Park plays Sunshine and Sydenham-Hillside plays the Druids, while in region 3 its PEGS vs West Coburg and Jacana against Sunbury. In region 4, Sanctuary Lakes will play Maribyrnong Park St Marys and Werribee Centrals will host Gellibrand.
