Roads in the Melton and Moorabool municipalities have recently been closed for road works.

The intersection of Troups Road South/Davis Road and Boundary Road, Mount Cottrell, is currently undergoing a $1 million intersection upgrade delivered in partnership with Wyndham council.

The upgrade will include pavement widening and resurfacing, signage and line marking improvements, and road drainage upgrades.

The intersection will be closed until the end of March.

The project is part of a larger Troups Road South upgrade being carried out by Melton City Council to improve safety on the road, with wider lanes and shoulders in both directions.

The upgrade included the intersection of Greigs Roads and Troups Road South which is now complete and open.

“We look forward to completing the Troups Road South upgrade and delivering a safer road for everyone,” said Melton council capital projects acting manager Belal Chundoo.

In Moorabool, Yendon-Egerton Road, over Black Creek, Millbrook, between Mcguigans Road and Sullivans Road will be closed from January 16 to February 6.

The road will be closed for pavement reconstruction and guardrail upgrade works.

A detour is available via Mcguigans Road from the West and Gordon-Egerton Road from the East.
