The eighth annual Bacchus Marsh Christmas festival and Carols by Candlelight will take place at Maddingley Park on Saturday, December 17.

From 11am guests can experience a whole day of activities with kids rides, market stalls, art activities, live music, a gingerbread workshop, and a meet and greet with special guests – Santa Claus, Mrs Claus and even the Christmas Grinch.

For the first time this year the show will also include a car and bike show.

Carrols will get underway from 7.30pm, then later in the evening there’ll be fireworks and a laser show.

The event last year drew a crowd of 8,500 and now that restrictions have eased organiser Emma Dwyer is hoping the event is bigger than ever.

“We’re very excited about the eighth annual Bacchus Marsh Christmas Festival. We’re expecting lots of families in the community out to enjoy the festive season and all the hard work we’ve done,” she said.

“We’ve got pony rides, carnival rides, 112 vendors, food park trucks of all cultures, and local talent up on our stage.

“Lots of time and effort and energy has been put into it this year. We’ve got a beautiful team of volunteers that all work together to bring these events to the community.”

Ms Dwyer gave thanks to event sponsors Western Screen Blinds, Saltwater Swim School, Event Stagehire, and First National Real Estate Rayner.

“We just want people there and enjoying the day, we want the love and laughter to be brought back to our kids, they all deserve it,” she said.
