Flood update

A relief centre has opened at the Melton Community Hall, 232 High Street Melton, for residents affected by flooding in the City of Melton and in need of assistance.

There is a Moderate Flood Warning in place for the Moorabool River, at Batesford Bridge it was at 3.75 metres at 5.27am Tuesday, November 15 is expected to reach four metres.

Emergency Vic advice is currently to watch and act.

As of 6.37pm Monday, November 14 Emergency Vic downgraded the status of the Werribee River above the Melton Reservoir to a Minor Flood Warning.

However there are now also minor flood warnings along the Werribee River downstream of the Melton Reservoir which reached a peak above the minor flood level of 2.03 metres, and the Cottrell Street Ford, which was expected to peak at around 3.5 metres as of 6.37pm Monday.

Access to 1000+ Steps from Ramsay Crescent, Darley is closed until further notice due to washouts.

Sand and sandbags are available for Moorabool Shire residents from Bacchus Marsh Council Depot, 17 Kennedy Place, Maddingly and Ballan Council Office carpark, 15 Stead Street.

These are self-fill stations, so please bring your own shovels.

As of 8.30 pm Monday, November 14 the following roads were closed within the Melton Municipality:

Troups Road South – residents cannot access Troups Road South beyond the southern most creek crossing.

McCorkells Road – Road closure between Coburns Road and Missens Road. Local access only.

Tarletons Road – Road closure at the western extent on the unsealed section of road near Leakes Road. Local access via Plumpton Road.

Boundary Road – Road closure between Mt Cottrell Road and Hopkins Road. Local resident access only.

Downing Road – Local access only between Middle Road & Boundary Road

As of 1.50pm Monday, November 14 the following roads were closed in the Moorabool municipality:

Brisbane Road, Balliang, between Quakes Rd & Bacchus Marsh-Balliang Rd

Muirs Lane, Myrniong

Ingliston Road, Ballan-Bacchus Marsh

Powerline Road, Mount Egerton
