The Victorian Government has announced a new round of funding for revitalising and

activating Melton’s town centre.

Building on $3.5 million already contributed by the Victorian Government to the

project, this announcement will inject nearly $1 million into the town centre.

Council will be contributing an additional $150,000 as well as undertaking design work,

community engagement and project management in-house.

Together, these investments will facilitate several more outdoor dining projects, help deliver

the new Kids Zone near the old courthouse and fund several local business activation

campaigns including a Winter Arts and Culture Festival and a Buy Local campaign.

The Melton Revitalisation Board, chaired by Melton MP Steve McGhie is overseeing the town centre projects.

Melton council thanked the board for their contributions to the town centre projects and helping ensure they add value to the local community and economy.

Melton Mayor Goran Kesic said that these “exciting changes” benefit the whole community including residents, small businesses and visitors to the town who can enjoy its vibrancy and atmosphere.

“As a growing region, it is vital that we spend time focusing on the value of family and build on what we have, to create and maintain an environment that people want to raise a family in,” he said.
