Police seize firearms following Hillside arrests

Police seized loaded firearms from an allegedly stolen car following the arrest of two men in Hillside on Tuesday morning..

Officers responded to reports of two men loitering around Queensbury Court about 12.30am.

Two men were found in an allegedly stolen red Mazda car and were arrested when they tried to walk away from police.

Police searched the vehicle and found a loaded handgun, loaded sawn-off shotgun, ammunition and a substance believed to be cannabis.

The 36-year-old man from Sunshine and a 33-year-old man from Hillside were taken into custody.

The pair will appear before court on Tuesday..
